Sort of odd, but yeah, you can get "ambushed".
But as you can see it wasn't really an ambush, I merely had to help out other guys who were really getting mauled by spiders.

Good thing I brought Aveline with me when I do that Magistrate's Orders quest. It was so handy and useful =3
