I think this is the perfect beginner's kit! It comes with everything you need to get going. I am happy with the quality of material. The bulbs are large and bright and the lights work very well. It comes with your three basic colors for backdrops. Everything is very easy to setup. I didn't need to look at any instructions or manuals. Everything is very lightweight and easy to move around.
I do recommend that you get extension cords and power strips for this as the cords that come on the lights are not long enough themselves to be plugged into outlets.
