All: Fill our hearts, Holy Spirit, kindle within us the fire of your love.

Hymn of Praise: Come, thou almighty King # 293 (BoP, 1997)
Prayer of Approach:
Omniscient Creator, unto you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hid. On this Day of Pentecost, cleanse the thoughts of our hearts with the purifying fire of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you and worthily glorify your holy name. This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to pray, saying
The Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen
Confession of Sin:
Most holy and merciful Father, we acknowledge and confess in your presence our sinful nature, prone to evil and slothful in doing good. You alone know how often we have sinned by wandering from your ways, wasting your gifts, forgetting your love. For the sake of your Son Jesus, have mercy on us and forgive us, that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Amen
Assurance of Pardon (Ephesians 1:7)
In Christ our release is secured and our sins are forgiven through the shedding of his blood. This is the grace he has so freely lavished upon us.

GOD SPEAKS TO US
Responsive Psalm (104) Rob Henderson
Leader: O Lord, how manifold are your works!
All: In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.
L: There is the sea, great and wide; creeping things innumerable are there, living things both small and great.
A: There go the ships and Leviathan that you formed to sport in it.
L: These all look to you to give them their food in due season.
A: When you give to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are filled with good things.
L: When you hide your face, they are dismayed; when you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.
A: When you send forth your spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground.
L: May the glory of the Lord endure forever.
A: May the Lord rejoice in his works— who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke.
L: I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
A: May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the Lord. Bless the Lord, O my soul. Praise the Lord!
