The Silver Hatchet is an interesting tale of murder and the supernatural set in Budapest in 1861. It is an early Conan Doyle first published in London Society magazine in December 1883.
Two inseparable student chums, Schlegel and Strauss have their friendship put to the ultimate test. Do these characters and this plot perhaps foreshadow the unbreakable bond between Holmes and Watson? Er... maybe!
