This brand new and exclusive six part series, Instruments of Death, goes back to a time before precise, pin-point weapons could take out specific targets and explores the effects of blades and bullets on a human body and reveals how battlefield wounds were treated by surgeons on the frontlines.
Through war re-enactments, first-hand tests and modern experiments overseen by presenter Karl Ude-Martinez, viewers will discover the effects of blades, bullets, arrows and spears on a human being. Each episode focuses on a different famous battle from history, and investigates why instruments of war were created to inflict the most untreatable, bloody and mortal wounds possible.
