President Trump over the weekend also addressed the North Korean nuclear threat in phone calls with several leaders in Southeast Asia.
He spoke to the president of the Philippines on Saturday and the leaders of Thailand and Singapore on Sunday, and discussed ways to maintain diplomatic and economic pressure on Pyongyang.
He also extended invitations to the White House to all three leaders -- including the controversial Philippine leader Rodrigo Duterte.
Duterte is accused of killing thousands of people without due process in his anti-drug campaign, and Trump's invitation has drawn criticism from human rights groups.
