One of the most fascinating conversations that Jesus has during His time on earth in the gospel of Matthew is perhaps the one he has with the disciples about Jesus' identity (Matthew 16:18). They talk about the church and the foundation that it is built on.
Jesus tells the apostle Peter that He will built His Church on the 'Petra', the rock. What is this rock? Is Jesus talking about Peter himself? Is Peter the rock of the (Catholic) Church?
