Hello description reader friends.
The flowers around me are mostly in full bloom. I love looking at them. They really add beauty to our simple surroundings. I initially had no plans on painting using natural pigments, but I just noticed that our butterfly pea is overpowering one side of the fence. I picked the flower that was always stroking my face every time I pass by it. Without a thought, I extracted its pigment. I thought I will get some kind of violet but as I added water to make it act like watercolours, it gave me a gorgeous ultramarine (it gets lighter with water). I then decided to gather some more flowers in other colours to see what I could extract. These paints are not archival though. They will soon fade and turn into some kind of brown.
Plants used:
Butterfly Pea
Bougainvillea
Malunggay
Cosmos
Yellow Bell
