The Twitch VIP role allows the broadcaster to give users a special role in the stream. Users with the VIP role will be given a badge next to their name in chat. Then VIP role doesn’t provide any special rewards or abilities other than the badge and notoriety that comes with it. This means that you can comfortably give the role to friends or other streamers instead of moderator.
