1883 Season 2 Confirmed! When Season 1 of 1883 wrapped up in February, we reported that the show was not getting another season because Yellowstone and 1883 creator Taylor Sheridan confirmed during the development stage that 1883 was a limited series. Staying true to his words, Sheridan also gave Season 1 of 1883 a conclusive, albeit heartbreaking, ending. However, with a sky-high IMDb viewer approval rating of 8.8 out of 10, you can imagine that the fans of the Yellowstone universe would beg for more. 1883 limited, one-season spin-off series, titled 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, is coming to Paramount+ in 2023. A legendary federal peace officer in the Indian Territory, who became the inspiration for The Lone Ranger, Bass Reeves will be portrayed by the 46-year old British-Nigerian actor, two-time Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo. Unfortunately, Season 1 stars Tim McGraw, Faith Hill or Sam Elliott won’t be returning.
