Earlier today, Republican Congressman Mike Johnson of Louisiana won the gavel, 220 to 209, becoming the 56th Speaker of the US House. Pro-life groups like Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America applaud Speaker Johnson, saying he's a longtime defender of constitutional principle, chief among them, the right of life. 51-year old Johnson is the first Speaker from Louisiana. His election doesn't sit well with Democrats and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries who accuses him of being a right wing ideologue. Professor of Politics at the Catholic University of America, Dr. Matthew Green, joins to tell us what it means now that a speaker is in place and how unusual it was to be without a speaker for 3 weeks. Dr. Green explains what more we know about the new speaker. He discusses what comes next for the House and what the first orders of business are now that a speaker is in place.
