Creating a fabulous winter/spring display with layer upon layer of spring bulbs topped off with winter bedding A technique I’ve been using for around 15 years but now known as the bulb lasagne.
Don’t be tempted overpack each layer and never allow your bulbs to touch, there’s two ways of approaching this in my opinion the first is to create a colour coordinated cohesive display giving you a spectacular show all at once but for me it’s about drawing out the flowering season and making sure each pot works just as hard as it can for as long as it can before it needs replacing with something else, My bulb lasagna contains the following
Allium atropurpureum tulip Uncle Tom Tulip Angelique. Narcissus Tete a Tete. Narcissus tresamble and iris blue note
I’ve then topped it off with. Blue and white polyanthus and mixed Pansy, #gardenerben
