Over five million Chinese citizens have signed an open letter calling for a World Health Organization investigation into a U.S. lab some believe to be the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian on Wednesday said the number indicates the anger of the Chinese people at the politicization by the U.S. of the virus's origins. The lab in question, Fort Detrick, is a military facility located in the state of Maryland. It stores some of the world's most dangerous viruses, such as Ebola and smallpox.
