In Nick Clegg's keynote speech to Spring Conference 2015, he outlines how the Liberal Democrats have built a stronger economy and a fairer a society, and why we are the party to take Britain into the future.
In government, we have taken the tough decisions to clean up Labour's mess, and thanks to these choices, we are now beginning to see the economy recover and confidence grow.
Liberal Democrats have:
– Created 2m apprenticeships ([ Ссылка ])
– Introduced 50 weeks of shared parental leave ([ Ссылка ])
– Introduced a Pupil Premium that saw £2.5n go to the schools that need it most ([ Ссылка ])
– Given a £905 tax cut to millions of workers by raising the personal allowance threshold ([ Ссылка ])
– Created 200,000 green jobs and introduced a 5p charge on plastic bags ([ Ссылка ])
– Put £400m extra into mental health services ([ Ссылка ])
In the next government, we want to take these policies further.
Our five priorities for the next five years are fairer taxes, prosperity for all, quality healthcare, opportunity for every child and our environment protected ([ Ссылка ])
Our manifesto plans include:
– Giving the NHS the £8bn it needs ([ Ссылка ])
– Making Britain the largest economy in Europe by 2035 ([ Ссылка ])
– Safeguarding the environment with five green laws ([ Ссылка ])
– Extending 15 hours per week of free childcare to all children of working parents aged between 9 months and 2 years old ([ Ссылка ])
– Creating a rent-to-own scheme for first-time buyers, allowing them to build up a share in houses through renting and not deposits. ([ Ссылка ])
