This elegant Tegu lizard (Tupinambis cuzcoensis), seen here walking past a swamp in the Peruvian rainforest, was actually filmed by our mammal research team using one of our camera traps. The reason for this is that Tegus are one of the few lizards that are warm-blooded, and thus able to set off the heat sensor in the camera trap!
We run conservation volunteer, student internship, high school, and ecotourist visitor programs in the Amazon rainforest and Andes mountain ecosystems of Peru. To find out more on how you can get involved in our long-running projects, please visit our website: [ Ссылка ]
