How many types of graphene are there? Graphene is commonly thought of as monolayer graphen,e which is a one atom thick sheet of carbon atoms. In this video we look at the growing family of graphene-related materials. The tuneability of graphene and other 2D materials is important for new areas of applications.
We also look at 2D materials and their uses such as boron nitride that can be used as an insulator and tungsten disulphide.
Narrated by Professor Ian Kinloch, a lecturer in Materials Science School of Materials. His research focuses on Polymeric and carbon (graphene and nanotubes) and related nanomaterials.
