This video tutorial shows how to get both the armor of the old gods set and the silver-blood family ring after escaping the cidhna mine. To do this it is highly recommended to be at a higher level with strong weaponry and armor, healing potions galore, a high speech level for persuasions, a large carrying capacity etc. (Note: do not start these two side quests until ready to complete them. If started and left incomplete certain quests will bug out the quest so it will be unfinishable. The civil war questline especially if the stormcloaks take markarth will do this. Do not bring quest items along. There's a 5% chance you won't get them back). Head to Markarth and see weylin murder margret in the marketplace (or prevent it using calm or slow time). Get a key off margret's corpse. Get eltry's note and read it. This starts forsworn conspiracy. Go to the markarth shrine of talos. Eltry wants evidence of a conspiracy. At silver-blood inn get the key to margrets room (or just talk to her near the fireplace). Get her journal in the end table. (only if she was killed. It'll get stuck in your inventory otherwise). Exiting the inn get warned by a guard. Visit eltry to collect leveled gold. Go to the warrens (optionally talking to mulush the smelter foreman). Inside get weylin's room key off garvey. Get weylin's note and open it. (the note is the order to kill margret signed "N" or Nepos). Outside get in a brawl with dryston. Deplete his health to zero and pick his note. Visit eltry and collect leveled gold again. Pick either just going to nepos or both nepos and the treasury house. Get journals from thonar and/or nepos after killing undercover forsworn agents. Return to eltry and find three guards who killed eltry and want to frame you. Kill them all and loot eltry for around 800 gold. (or get it later in the hall of the dead). Get whisked away to cidhna mine. Talk to Uraccen or borkul the beast. Get sent to grisvar the unlucky. He wants skooma so talk to duach for a bottle. Return to grisvar and get a shiv in exchange. Pick a bottle of skooma off odvan. Bribe borkul with skooma and keep the shiv. Talk to madanach to do a forsworn alliance. Go listen to braig's sob story. Upon return the king in rags wants grisvar shanked. Drop your shiv and talk to him again to get another one. Now shank grisvar and loot two more shivs off his corpse. Madanach now runs to the main chamber and announces an early pardon. Follow the forsworn prisoners through a tunnel into the markarth ruins. Follow all the way to the end (optionally fighting or running past the spiders and dwarven spheres). Meet up with Kaie at the exit. Madanach speaks to you while returning all your items and giving the armor of the gods set. Exit the dialogue before it's done and sneak behind him. Make a quicksave and make sure everyone leaves except for madanach. Here re-equip armor and weapons. I use the staff of paralysis on him and hit him 3 or 4 times with a sword. Don't kill him in one hit or you won't get anymore shivs. Get the key, shiv and note off his body. Now head outside. Doesn't matter what you did the forsworn will attack. Just jump over them and quickly talk to thonar. Hit the button to back out of the dialogue three times. After backing out of talking the silver-blood family ring is added. Dispatch of the remaining forsworn. Three or four of them should have a shiv for a total of 7 or 8. This also grants you a full pardon in the reach!
