This is a movie of a NOAA space weather product which shows how solar flares affect HF communication. Most of the effect comes from the solar x-ray flare; however, understanding the full X-ray and EUV spectral variability will help space weather modelers refine the physical understanding of this complex phenomenon and improve the accuracy of the models.
