Ali Sezer was enjoying the sunshine from the step outside of his shop, Ali Barber, when a car swerved off Westoe Road in South Shields, South Tyneside, and smashed into a lamppost. The red Nissan Duke then spun 180 degrees - with the rear end of the vehicle only just missing the 38-year-old. Mr Sezer was not injured in the terrifying incident. The driver, believed to be in his 70s, may have had a seizure when his car, travelling at 'between 30 and 40mph', hit the lamppost - and he was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
