*demo on individual sound mode earlier part ,playing with sequencer and filter starting around 4 min.
Been a player of Teenage Engineering OP1 for years, it actually started my interest and work related to electronic musical devices.
Here's my thoughts about the PO-14.
This is a very fun little machine, of coz it has its limitation. It shines when you like random, wander-around style of playing, with its filter and playstyle function, collaging a tunes. For me, its quite fun to play on its own.
I love its portability and the PCB aesthetic. The sound is very punchy once its connected to a speaker.
Its not an extreme accurate apparatus, since the screen actually has not much to do with the machine operation except showing a bmp, clock, note mode filter value, write mode... relying on the LEDs,somehow you really need to remember what you are doing to the sound when playing.( I remember their prototype version had no screen at all.)Its fine but, I really hope there will be a next version that has a similar related visual as the OP-1.
This Bass unit can actually be seen as an add-on to the OP-1 through external input, endless fun with the tape and FX.... Surely, the PO series is already a cool set. (They actually remind me of Propellerhead Figure apps, its like an Analog version of it with a diff interface. )Beside, its ability to sync with Korg Volca units may be fun and useful as well. Though I dont have any to play with now.
