Jumping...and landing out of a jump are essential skills every amateur athlete and weekend warrior should know. Jumping up to a soft plyo box allows you to land softer and provides more cushion for the joints.
Once you’ve mastered a standard, dual-foot box jump, start experimenting with different variations and you might surprise yourself!
By keeping the weight in your toes and a soft bend in the knees you can increase your reaction time. Rebound jumps place more demand on the calves and strengthen the ligaments in the ankles.
Single leg box jumps are a good way to develop unilateral power and practice balance by forcing your body to decelerate on one foot. Jump turn variations such as 90 and 180 degree jumps help with developing peripheral vision and spacial awareness. Lateral jumps train your body to increase jump height in any direction.
Both lateral and forward jumps over the box train jump width and hip drive.
For all jumps, learning to roll through the feet and ease in on the landing by gradually bending the knees is essential for injury prevention. There are so many ways to progress a skill that the simple box jump will never be the same!

EPIC Hybrid Training consists of seven different fitness classes along with various specialty classes to assure your fitness regime stays fresh. All classes have a range of 5-8 unique circuit stations that utilize EPIC movements.
Workouts are reprogrammed every 4 weeks with different EPIC movements to ensure enough time to see progress as you can take a specific class at least 4 times each month, but also ensure new and exciting workouts each month.
