I was asked to perform a spoken word piece for an Easter event last year, and agreed to, if I was able to perform two. "PAIN" is such a memorable song to me, and the lyrics are just as real to me as they were 5 years ago when the song was released.

I'd like to give a massive thank you to my friend Benjamin @cutandsown who created the piano piece that was in the same key, sound, style, etc of the original. And playing it with me on a sidewalk in front of a shoe store.

We had only a few hours to practice, and then arrived to see an entire city block of Pomona California closed off with people flooding the streets waiting for the performance, not knowing what to expect.

I was never planning on getting so "into it" but just the familiar cadence and lyrics from "PAIN" brought back the joy of performing songs that came from my story and heart.

The video/the song are in no way perfect, they are raw, and it wasn't even mic'd to be used for social media. But I wanted true fans of the song to hear it in a different way and see that I still have that fire for angry, real, and emotional music inside of me. It came out here, and sparked something special this night. I am not done. - AC
