Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) is the capital of India's West Bengal state. Founded as an East India Company trading post, it was India's capital under the British Raj from 1773–1911. Today it’s known for its grand colonial architecture, art galleries and cultural festivals.

Itinerary - Day 1 - Take a bus to Howrah station. Get off at Mullick Bazar. Walk across Howrah bridge and take a left and after 50 meters you will reach the ferry Ghat. Take a ferry to Babu Ghat Once you get off at Babu Ghat take a right and keep walking till you reach Princep Ghat
You can do boating for half an hour if you want. Keep walking along the Ghat and you will reach this place where they sell Bombay pav bhaji. Next, take a taxi and go to College Street and stroll along the streets Go to the coffee house for the feels. And go to Putiram and paramount to eat. Then take a metro and come back to Maidan and rest. In the evening go to Park Street and have Kusum rolls ka Kathi roll and Balaram Mullick, sweets. Day 2- Get up early and head to Maidan to see the sunrise. It’s foggy and beautiful. Come back and have breakfast. Victoria memorial, St. Paul’s cathedral, Indian museum, Nandan art gallery, Lunch at Nandan; have Indian Chinese (don’t eat too heavy). Head to the nearest metro station. Take a metro ride to the esplanade. At esplanade make your way to Nahoums (locals’ fav bakery-over 100 years old) and try the fruit cake. Have nizam Kathi roll (they invented Kathi rolls) Arsalan biryani (chicken biryani) Try the Puchka there and compare with pani puri. Do shopping if you want
You can walk back to your hostel and absorb the culture. We will go to Chinatown for the breakfast. Day 3 - North Calcutta streets. Take a tram to Kumartuli Lunch (Shiraz biryani)
Jorasanko Thakurbari (Pandit Tagore’s birthplace), Head back to the hostel via the metro.
