Featuring performances by Julian Glover, Jamie Winstone, Baz Black, and Niamh James, 'AN IRISH ANGEL' is set to premiere digitally in the UK on 15 April. This divine narrative secured the Best Film award at the Cannes World Film Festival 2023 and is presented by Miracle Media.
The film unfolds the complex life of Aine (played by James), a young girl from the challenging environments of Portrush, Northern Ireland. Amidst preparing for a school play, Aine confronts a series of daunting challenges: dealing with faith, battling suicidal thoughts, caring for her dying grandmother (Kathy Deehan), and facing an unexpected pregnancy.
As Aine struggles to cope with her pregnancy and strives to move forward, she leans on the unwavering support of her hardworking mother Margaret (Amanda Doherty – The Fall), her encouraging drama teacher Ellie (Winstone), Father Reitel (Glover), and her best friends Leo (Tod Bell) and Corinna (Ania Lee Lyes).
With Aine's closest ones embroiled in their own life trials, the question remains – can they come together to support Aine in her moment of need?
