This topic is both confusing and silly the more I researched, more so silly at how confusing this industry has made it by not all speaking a common tongue. So I pulled way back on gritty details to keep things dead simple and got right to the point of things.
In the end if you are an enthusiast photographer simply enjoying images online and on the computer, it doesn't matter if your images are 1dpi, or 1 million.
It's only when printers get involved do we need to pay attention so I base my advice around that.
