Reading about wine regions never compares to visiting them. There is so much we learn simply by setting foot in the land, looking around at nature and observing the vines adapting to a terroir. In Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé, terroir – this much-debated concept – involves the assembly of diverse soils in a cool continental climate with the allowed grape varieties (Sauvignon Blanc for both and Pinot Noir only for Sancerre) and traditional methods cultivated by growers over the centuries. This is a short video of our impressions of these fascinating regions.
