Moving for Better Balance, or MFBB, is designed for older adults — as well as those with chronic health conditions — who might have impaired balance and limited mobility. This is a 12-week, evidence-based, instructor-led group program designed to improve strength, balance, flexibility and mobility through slow, therapeutic movements based on Tai chi.
Moving for Better Balance includes two class sessions and two-plus hours of at-home practice per week. The program takes place in a safe and supportive group setting. The program is held at various YMCA of Northwest North Carolina branches.
YMCA members and potential members are welcome. Fees do apply, and financial aid is available for those who qualify.
