I was powering my house with my Honda EU2000i generator, but every time that I would turn on the microwave the microwave would not power up.

My average load is around 500 watts so I assumed the microwave was around 1000 watts , which is well within the rated 1600 watts of the generator, and I know the Honda can surge to 2000 watts for 30 minutes.

I was surprised to learn that this 1.6 cu ft microwave was using around 1750 watts on its own! This is why I could not run the house and power the microwave.
