I've been using an Arcteryx Cerium LT jacket for the last eight years. I've taken it with me on almost every single outdoor adventure. I prize it for the exceptional lightweight, barebones feature set, and incredible fit. Is it worth paying a premium for an Arcteryx product? I guess it all depends on how you use it. Considering I've brought mine on literally hundreds of adventures to me it has been worth it.
The Arcteryx Cerium LT Hoodie compresses to an extremely small size. About the size of a Nalgene but a bit smaller. The newest version shows a weight of 11.9oz which I believe is heavier than in years past. Recently Arcteryx has also ditched the LT moniker and now the jacket just goes by "Cerium".
I love the cinch cord at the waist that helps keep drafts out but also helps keep the warm air in.
Is this jacket, which now goes for $400 dollars worth it or are you better suited at lookism at options from Patagonia, The North Face, Outdoor Research, etc.
If you are a person that lives for the outdoors and you are constantly out and about getting after it then I would encourage you to get this jacket. If you get out a few times a year or you don't plan on packing the jacket, there are better options out there for you.
