In Islam, having an illegitimate child is considered a serious sin. Zina (unlawful sexual intercourse) is forbidden in Islam and is punishable in this life and in the Hereafter. An illegitimate child is one that is born out of wedlock, either through zina or other prohibited relationships. Such a child is not considered to be a legitimate heir and does not have the same rights as a child born within the bounds of marriage.
However, it is important to note that Islam also stresses the importance of compassion and mercy towards all human beings, including illegitimate children. The child is not responsible for the actions of their parents and should not be treated with disdain or disrespect. Rather, they should be treated with kindness and love, and efforts should be made to ensure their well-being and upbringing. But it is important to remember the very core of our deen- which is to avoid this act of zina in the first place.
A Hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) states: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah has written for the son of Adam his inevitable share of adultery, whether he is aware of it or not. The adultery of the eye is the looking (at something that is sinful to look at), and the adultery of the tongue is to utter (what it is unlawful to utter), and the innerself wishes and longs for (adultery) and the private parts turn that into reality or refrain from submitting to the temptation.' " (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Book 82, Hadith 23)
In Surah Al-Isra, verse 32, Allah (SWT) says: "And do not come near to unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way."
