In this installment of the Triad, Voice Leading and Chord Construction Series we are now examining voice leading through the chord progression of C - F - Fm - G7 - C. Between C and F the tonal center of C stays in common, from F to F minor only the A moves to Ab then from Fm to G7 (5th eliminated) the F is in common between both chords and the Ab and C move down a semitone to G and B to form the G7 chord.
Chords are made up of voices and each voice moves independently in a progression toward resolving tension.
