Well-woven, yet with a feeling of complete rawness. Pursuing a harmony between emotion and intellect, rock band ABTB is back with an album that tells the story of the here and now.
ABTB established themselves as the best rock band through their first album [Attraction Between Two Bodies], released in October 2016. Joe LaPorta, who won the Grammy for Best Engineered Album for his work on David Bowie's [Black Star], praised the band’s album: "I was immediately drawn in by the aggression and excitement they had in their music. They have a very raw and natural feel (yet still tight), which is nice to hear." It was nominated in several categories, including Album of the Year, at the Korean Music Awards ceremony held the following year, ultimately winning Best Rock Album.
Four years later, on May 1, 2020, ABTB returned with their second album, [daydream]. It shows clear signs of their efforts to add new elements while keeping the powerful sounds, sophisticated performances and popular sense of melody that characterized the first album.
Primarily, it’s a concept album in which all the songs tell a single story. [daydream] presents new music by introducing Pink Floyd, Dream Theater and Queensrÿche-style narratives within the alternative hard rock feel of the first album.
The basis of this change is what has happened to Korean society since 2016. ABTB does not look down on these events from above as a third party, but as a band who has experienced them personally. To this end, various musical elements are reflected in the songs. The clues can be found in the short story "Daydream", which comes with the album.
In these days of the vague declaration “Rock is dead”, when it's hard to find even a four-song EP, it's not easy to listen to a 10-song full-length album labeled as "concept". But that is precisely where the value of this album lies. Amid the flood of “new” songs (that aren’t entirely new) being released, ABTB's [daydream] will be the newest album you've heard.

2016년 10월에 공개한 1집 [Attraction Between Two Bodies]를 통해 최고의 록 밴드로 자리매김한 ABTB.
