Almost every major router bit manufacturer has a compression flush trim bit with bearings both above and below the edges. You’ll find them with names like Ultimate, Mega and Max. But despite the names, there's still room for something new. Those bits are all 1/2" shank, leaving out many handheld and trim routers. They're all 3/4" or larger cutting diameter, limiting their use in pattern routing. And more importantly they're some combination of carbide brazed to steel which can introduce balance and runout issues. We decided to offer you something better, the new Ultra-Shear Solid Carbide Compact Compression Pattern and Flush Trim Bit is a true 100% solid carbide bit with perfect concentricity. It's 1/4" shank so you can use it in the trim or standard router of your choice. And, at 1/2" cutting diameter with 1-1/8" of cut length, it’ll tackle tight radius template projects that others just can’t.
