When we first travelled through Central Asia in 2015, we were blown away by the history and architecture of the Silk Road. We managed to explore some of the greatest cities from the era, but it was only when we checked out all the best things to do in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, we realised that this was the epitome of Silk Road beauty.
With the most amazing remnants of buildings from the Silk Road, including the Registan, Amir Timur's Mausleum and Shah-i-Zinda, at every corner we were blown away by the architecture we found.
I was lucky enough to return again in 2019 to see how things have changed for tourism in Uzbekistan and were pleased to see that the city is just as amazing as the first time I visited.
If you're wondering what to do in Samarkand, I hope this travel vlog and video helps you with your plans when coming here, or at least provides a bit of inspiration for you to visit!
