We've just driven the new-generation 2023 Nissan X-Trail, including the brand's answer to the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid - and it's a pretty intriguing approach.

Is it the right tech for today? Using a petrol engine to power electric motors, it certainly isn't conventional, but it is a novel approach to the notion of range anxiety - when was the last time you couldn't find a service station on your journey?

Tung Nguyen travelled to Slovenia for the launch of the new-generation 2023 Nissan X-Trail, and spent most of his time in the range-topping petrol-powered EV e-Power models.
