I have omitted the neckline binding and back slit binding pattern piecea and opted instead for a single fold bias tape for the neckline and a self-drafted facing for the back slit (dimensions provided in video).
The fabric I have used is a sturdy cotton shirting -- you will want to use a woven fabric with some structure, so that your lantern sleeves hold their shape.
