Bryce Canyon, Utah - Bryce Canyon National Park with Kids!

Join us as we continue to Ditch Default by full-time RVing across the US.

In this episode we continue our time in our favorite National Park to date, Bryce Canyon! Join us as we explore the park in the shoulder season (May) via hiking trails along with enjoying our downtime at Ruby's Inn and Campground.

Darrell solo hiked the the Fairyland Loop via the Rim Trail in chilly and windy conditions starting at the General Store parking lot. Hiking counter clockwise from the parking lot to Tower Bridge through so many magical Hodos to North Campground and back to the General Store from the Rim Overlook trail which is about 10 miles round-trip. If your wanting to get down in the canyon to see amazing colors, natural sculptures, and hear his thoughts on Fulltime RV living with our 3 kids, don't miss this hike!

To continue the magic, Darrell gets up early to catch the amazing sunrise over Bryce Canyon from the Upper Viewpoint at Inspiration Point. The surprise of the changing canyon landscape colors, shadows, and vibrancy is not one to miss!

For our final adventure in Bryce Canyon, we drive out to Rainbow Point for a short hike among the Bristlecones via the Bristlecone Loop. It was a family favorite due to it being a quick and pretty flat out and back 1 mile hike that is doable for all ages. Along the trail, you learn the history of the canyon and facts about the life and longevity of the tree for which it was named.
