AIADMK member and a Rajya Sabha MP from Tamil Nadu, Shashikala Pushpa, alleged in the House on Monday that a party leader slapped her and is forcing her to resign from the party.
Minutes after she broke down in the Rajya Sabha, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa sacked Pushpa for bringing “ill name to the party”.
Pushpa also claimed that her life is under threat, questioning if the government will protect her. Deputy Chairman JP Kurien, however asked Pushpa to write to Chairman and Vice President Hamid Ansari to seek protection and not speak in the House against someone who is not present in the House.
