In this led tutorial video I have explained two methods of identifying anode and cathode leads of a 5mm led. Then we have discussed what is the forward voltage of different LEDs. You will observe LEDs having different colors also have different forward voltages. I have shared a forward voltage chart for different color LEDs.
At last, we will discuss how to limit the current in the led circuit below the maximum current rating of led using the resistor. For that, we will see how to calculate current limiting resistor value using the Ohm law.
Here for the DC supply, I have used the LM317 adjustable voltage regulator circuit.
