On October 8th, 2015, Michael Shadlen, Professor of Neuroscience and member of the Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute at Columbia University, and Chris Washburne, Professor of Music and Founding Director of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Performance Program at Columbia University, discussed emerging concepts in neuroscience that have begun to expose the biology of deliberation, decision-making and timing. Recorded live at the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space in New York City, they also demonstrated recordings from brain cells and live jazz in an interactive dialogue about jazz and neuroscience.
