"The Transportation Security Administration has come under fire for its increasingly invasive airport security measures that include graphic body scanners and enhanced pat downs that involve officials running their hands inside pants waistbands. And it looks like the TSA may be caving to pressure to tone down security.
The TSA is now testing new X-ray technology that will depict a stick figure rather than a passenger's full body. The X-ray will allow security officials to see anything that protrudes from the body, such as a bomb vest or a cell phone.
In a Senate hearing on Wednesday, TSA administrator John Pistole said the new G-rated scanners are generating too many false positives to be installed at airports. TSA security director, George Naccara, however, has said Logan International Airport in Boston will be the first to receive the new ""stick figure"" scanners possibly by late winter."
