Seematti is one of the textile retailers in Kerala. It was started in the city of Alappuzha early in the year of 1910 by the textile revolutionist S. Veeriah Reddiar. It is chiefly known for its Kanchipuram Sarees, which are manufactured in the town of Kanchipuram. Seematti’s inception was during 1910 in Alappuzha, later spreading out with its branches in Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Pathanamthitta, Kayamkulam, Kollam, and Trivandrum. Seematti’s branch in Kottayam was established in the early 1950. Veeriah Reddiar’s son V. Thiruvenkitam is still leads Seematti Kottayam. After expanding Seematti by being the founder of Seematti Kochi, Thiruvenkitam transferred control of the very branch to his daughter Beena Kannan and son-in-law Veeriah (Kannan). Beena Kannan happens to be the CEO and lead designer of Seematti Kochi, who has been introducing a new range of Kanchipuram Sarees every year, since 2003. #zathuratalks
