Well, a few weeks ago I covered the original Rival Schools with a couple of playthroughs. Most figure the Dreamcast sequel was the next in line in the Rival Schools series, but actually, in a case of "No Export For You", Capcom developed an updated re-release of the Playstation game for Japan Playstations only, titled Nekketsu Seishun Nikki 2. This game is the actual first appearance of Taiyo High news reporter Ran Hibiki (unfortunately, no relation to Street Fighter's Dan 'The Man' Hibiki of the Saikyo Groove), and Gorin High's top swimming athlete Nagare. It also hosted a new stage and a few other gameplay tweaks (for example this is the game where Kyosuke gains his Super Lighting Upper Burning Vigor Attack). Of course, with this being the Japanese version, the Student editing and gameplay modes are left intact... if, of course you can understand quite a bit of native Japanese text.
Anyways, this is a simple Arcade playthrough with said newcomer Ran and her school teammate Kyosuke. So once again, prep up your backpacks and ready your fighting spirit (funny, since it's just about time for the kiddies to head back to school right about now) and let's head back to Rival Schools one more time.
