U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis speaks on the House floor in support of H.R. 1599, the Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015, to establish national standards and a system for voluntarily labeling food that does not contain genetically modified organisms (GMO). H.R. 1599 includes Davis’ amendment, which gives USDA the role of establishing a voluntary labeling system that mimics that of the organic label, to provide access and accurate information to consumers who seek additional information about non-GMO products.
