Ever wonder what happens to macadamias after they are harvested by our farmers?
The process is quite simple. The farmer will deliver the freshly harvested macadamias to their local processor. On arriving, the nut is lightly dried in shell. It is then cracked and the creamy kernel is gently separated from the hard shell.
Nothing is wasted with the valuable shell being used for many things (including powering the processing factory) and the beautiful kernel is sorted then packaged up, ready to be sent across Australia and around the world. From cracked to packed in less than 24 hours!
