The Seven Principles of Magical Thinking explores the irrational belief that ones thoughts, actions, or words can affect the outcome of situations and events. The integration of hand drawn illustrations with photographic imagery visually convey the boundary between the real and unreal. Experiences that defy reason and rationality often occur and question our own systems of logic. When we think magically, we draw conclusions between situations, thoughts, or actions that sensibly have no direct relationship to each other. The imagination, as an intrinsic element in both design and magical thinking, promotes possibility, challenges logic, and defies rationality.
