On March 25, 2015 the first beam was set on the new PA 903 Jim Thorpe Memorial Bridge over the Lehigh River, Lehigh Canal, Reading Blue Mountain Northern Railroad and Norfolk Southern Railroad. Construction began in Feb. 2014 on the new 961 foot, four-span continuous steel plate girder bridge in Jim Thorpe Borough, Carbon County. The $28.2 million bridge is expected to be complete in July 2017.
