In this video, I start the actual Oak Savanna Restoration. There are quite a few very large savanna oaks (white oaks) right behind our house, and that is where the project begins. The first thing to do is remove all of the trees that are shading the old savanna oaks -- and that is what I do. The area around the big oaks should be done fairly soon as I want them back in the light as soon as possible.

Update 10-20: Since this video was made, I've nearly cleared the entire area around the massive old oaks, and as of this writing have planted 37 new bare root bur oaks for generations to come.
