The biometric voter registration process, provided by STL Ghana, is divided into three main stages. Stage 1 begins with filling out a form with basic information regarding the potential voter's personal details. In stage 2 a registration officer checks some form of ID such as a national insurance card or drivers license and then inputs the data into a laptop computer, takes fingerprints with a fingerprint scanner and uses a webcam to take the individual's photograph. The third and final stage is when the potential voter is issued with the voter identification card to be used at the time of voting.
