I originally gave this presentation as part of a fashion show in February at Locust Grove in Louisville (before COVID-related lockdowns). The title of my talk is a play on the title of a work by Jane Austen called "A History of England by a Partial, Prejudiced, and Ignorant Historian," part of her Juvenilia, which she wrote in 1791. My friends in the Indiana Historical Costuming Society kindly agreed to model their historical costumes while I talk about what I've learned in the past year since I began 18th century costuming.
